Several common aluminum surface treatment technologies
Nov 14, 2018

There are more and more decorative aluminum plates on the market in people's lives. The surface treatment of aluminum plates can improve the decorative, corrosive and functional use of the products. Here are some simple introductions to the surface treatment technology of aluminum plates.

Oxidative coloring: Most aluminum sheets use the oxidation coloring method as the final treatment or the undercoating of other coatings. It is one of the earliest application methods with the best combination of performance and economy. The dominant color is silvery white, which is not colored, accounting for about 60% of the total output of the profile.

Wood grain processing: Wood grain processing is one of the most advanced processes in the field of aluminum sheet processing. The most common method for surface pattern processing is transfer printing.

Chemical coloring: Chemical coloring, also known as dyeing, is to immerse an oxidized aluminum plate in an aqueous solution containing a colorant and heated to a certain temperature, and then seal the pores in boiling water. The colored aluminum plate is brightly colored.

Coating treatment: The coating treatment is to apply a color or pattern coating on the aluminum plate to improve its corrosion resistance and enhance the decorative aesthetics.

Polishing treatment: The polishing treatment of aluminum sheets can be roughly divided into chemical polishing and mechanical polishing. Chemical polishing mainly uses the triacid method.

Electrophoretic painting: Under the action of DC voltage, the charged colloidal particles dispersed in the medium move under the action of an electric field to the opposite electrode of the charge, called the electric pulse. Electrophoretic coatings are mainly transparent, weatherable acrylics and polyoxyesters. The aluminum plate is subjected to anodizing and electrolytic coloring, and then subjected to electrophoretic coating, which has a double-layer protection effect. It has high transparency, high metal texture and high corrosion resistance. It is more decorative than spray paint and powder spray.
