Global Aluminum Production In 2017 Reached 6,000 Tons

According to the statistics of the International Aluminum Association (IAI), the global primary aluminum production in November 2017 was 4.74 million tons, down 5.3% from 4.978 million tons in October and 11% less than in 2016.

From January to November 2017, the monthly global average output of primary aluminum is 5.05 million tons. Based on this projection, it is expected that the annual output of primary aluminum is expected to reach 60.627 million tons.

In August 2017, the world's primary aluminum output was 5,017,000 tons, the first time in history that the monthly output exceeded 5 million tons. From August 2016 to January 2017, it continued for 6 months and from March to August 2017, 6 months to maintain an average monthly level of 5 million tons.

Global primary aluminum production in January-November 2017 was 55.575 million tons, an increase of 2.5% from 54.266 million tons in 2016. China accounted for 53.2% of the total global output of 55.575 million tons, 29.551 million tons; and the total output in Asia was 33.134 million tons, accounting for 59.6% of the global total. In addition, as a global primary aluminum producer, China produced 2.35 million tonnes in November 2017, a decrease of 7.7% quarter-over-quarter and 18.7% year-on-year.
